I am honored to nominate Kalea Rees, RN, for Employee of the Month. Kalea serves as a Team Lead on the RPMH OB unit and consistently exemplifies the highest standards of leadership, dedication, and efficiency.
Kalea is exceptionally dependable, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. She is a natural-born leader who takes ownership of her role and the unit. Her attention to detail sets her apart; she routinely identifies and addresses critical items that might otherwise be overlooked, such as ensuring appropriate consents for surgical procedures, catching or preventing missed medications, identifying procedure scheduling needs, and carefully reviewing MFM reports for irregularities. Because she takes the time to truly look and follow through, patient safety and quality of care are consistently upheld.
In addition to her clinical vigilance, Kalea is deeply committed to the smooth operation of the unit. She always ensures appropriate staffing, thoughtfully manages census considerations for oncoming shifts, and reliably completes all responsibilities expected of a Team Lead. Beyond that, she frequently goes above and beyond to support her coworkers, offering guidance, assistance, and reassurance whenever she is in charge.
Kalea’s leadership, dedication, and genuine care for both patients and colleagues make her an invaluable asset to the RPMH OB unit. She sets an example for others to follow and is truly deserving of recognition as Employee of the Month.
